Our Impact
We know that our investments are having a positive impact on young children and families in our community. Here are some of the changes that we have seen as a result of our community investments and partnerships:
Children are Healthier:
- Children have greater access to health insurance and care when they need it
- Children are being breastfed longer
- Children’s dental problems are being prevented, identified earlier and treated
- Children that have special needs are being identified earlier and linked to services
Families are Getting Help:
- From birth, babies and their families are receiving support through the only universal newborn home visiting program in California
- Families are getting help to solve personal and family problems
- Families are finding community resources through the 2-1-1 information line
Children are in Higher Quality Care:
- More child care and preschool spaces are being created
- Early care and education providers are more highly trained and educated
- More children are being cared for in high quality programs
- Public and private partnerships have formed to build and expand child care
Children are Better Prepared for Kindergarten:
- More children are in pre-Kindergarten programs that support their early learning
- More parents are reading to their children, supporting their children’s early literacy
